FEA and Real Estate Coalition Urge Congressional Tax Writers to Consider Importance of 1031 in Budget Reconciliation Discussions

On Sept. 7, FEA joined 39 members of the 1031 Real Estate Coalition in sending a letter to House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal and Senate Finance Chairman Ron Wyden as they develop and consider budget reconciliation legislation.

In the letter, the coalition emphasized the important contributions that Section 1031 like-kind exchanges make to job creation, economic mobility and other shared social and environmental objectives.  The coalition urged congressional tax writers to consider the importance of Section 1031 in budget reconciliation discussions.

The 1031 Real Estate Coalition represents national real estate, housing, environmental, farming, ranching, forestry, conservation and financial-services related organizations.   To read the full letter from the coalition, please click here.
